Safety Requirements and Construction Design Management (CDM)

• Non-Fragility: Glass Link modules comply with CWCT TN-67 for non-fragility in class-2 roofs and ACR[M]001 class B non-fragility when new and properly installed according to Brett Martin Daylight Systems' installation guidelines.
• Protection for Occupants: The inner glass pane is laminated to protect individuals inside buildings, adhering to Rooflight Association (formerly NARM) NTD14 industry guidelines.
• Precautions: It is crucial to avoid foot traffic on rooflights. Impacts such as foot traffic or falling persons may damage the rooflights, possibly requiring replacement.
• Compliance Standards: All glass panels meet the standards set by BS EN12150, BS 14449, and BS 1279, ensuring high quality and safety.

Security

• Installation and Fixings: Each product is installed on a structural, insulated builder's upstand using self-drilling, anti-tamper security fixings to enhance security.

Fire Performance

• Fire Resistance: Glass used in these rooflights is designated as Class A according to EN13501 part 1 and is listed among CWFT (classified without further test) materials, as published in the Official Journal of the EU (European Commission Decision 96/603/EC).
• Building Regulations Compliance: The rooflights feature a 6mm toughened outer pane, ensuring a BROOF(t4) classification in line with building regulations, which pertains to the external spread of flame and heat penetration.

Wind and Snow Load Resistance

• Wind Load Resistance: These modules resist wind loads up to 1200 N/m², adhering to the requirements specified in BS EN 1991-1-4: 2005. This standard assesses the general actions on structures caused by wind, ensuring that the modules maintain structural integrity under typical wind conditions.
• Snow Load Resistance: They are also designed to withstand snow loads of up to 600 N/m², as specified by BS EN 1873: 2005. This standard pertains to the performance of non-accessible roof coverings under various imposed loads, including those caused by snow.

Structural Warranty: Glass Link Rooflights are guaranteed to remain fit for purpose under normal industrial conditions for 20 years with a 10-year warranty against becoming perforated, losing significant structural integrity, or distorting to the extent of losing weather-tightness.

Electrical Actuators Warranty: Electrical actuators are covered for 1 year and are designed to last for at least 10,000 cycles.

Insulated Glass Warranty: Insulated glass used in the construction of the rooflights is warranted for 5 years.

If you find any cracks in the glass upon delivery, please contact us right away. To be eligible for a return or replacement, it is important that any damage is reported within 12 hours of delivery. Promptly informing us of any issues ensures we can resolve them quickly and efficiently.
